PETITION FOR STATE GOVERNMENT LEADERS
TO ADDRESS ISSUES CAUSED BY
ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION
IN TENNESSEE DURING THE 2007 LEGISLATIVE SESSION

EXPLANATION:

To my Blount and Sevier County neighbors:

I receive messages from constituents daily, asking that something be done about ILLEGAL immigration.

I support LEGAL immigration. America was founded and has been strengthened by immigrants from all parts of the world. But, America faces a crisis because millions of ILLEGAL immigrants pour across our borders each year. Although the Tennessee government is limited in what it can do to regulate illegal immigration, I will join other like-minded legislators in 2007 in trying to reduce the impact of illegal immigration in our state.

It believe it will be helpful to have the signatures of thousands of persons in my district, asking that the Tennessee government take all measures possible to discourage illegal immigration.

If I receive enough signatures, I will present the petition to the governor, the speaker of the Senate, the speaker of the House of Representatives, and my fellow legislators.

Sign the petition only if you are eighteen (18) years or older in age or an emancipated minor.

  • By signing the petition, you give me permission to include your name and city of residence (but not your mailing address) in a list presented to these officials.
  • I need your mailing address to confirm petition authenticity, if ever challenged. Unless you check the box, you request to receive occasionally by postal mail my newsletter (free -- campaign contributions never solicited).
  • If you provide your email address (your email address is not automatically sent to me when you submit this petition), I will send you weekly updates on legislative activities, when the General Assembly is in session (free -- campaign contributions never solicited).

PETITION

To the governor, the speaker of the Senate, the speaker of the House of Representatives, and General Assembly senators and representatives:

I support LEGAL immigration, and I realize that Tennessee is limited in its options to establish immigration policies. However, I respectfully request that Tennessee take all possible measures to reduce the impact of ILLEGAL immigration in our state.
